Good News / Bad News

Good News – last night I slept in my bed for the first time in 6 weeks!

That is great!

Bad News – I tossed and turned all night because I haven’t slept in my bed for 6 weeks.

That’s too bad.

Good News – I got almost 9 hours of sleep.

I bet you feel great.

Bad News – I slept light because I was afraid I would pop my bag open and leak crap everywhere.

That would keep anyone up.

Good News – my bag didn’t break or leak.

Alright!

Bad News – my mucus plug in my butt came out.

Ahhh……. I don’t know what to say…..

Good News – I didn’t have labor pains and give birth to a child.

…..What????

Bad News – I crapped mucus all over the bed.

….. I feel uncomfortable now……..

Good News – I was able to cover it with a towel.

Shouldn’t you have cleaned it up?

Bad News – I woke Lori while I was putting the towel down.

I bet she didn’t like that.

Good News – the mucus is colorless and doesn’t stink.

I guess that is good.

Bad News – once it’s dry you can’t remember exactly where the spot was.

that isn’t good.

Good News – we washed all of our sheets on our bed today.

That always feels good to have clean sheets.

Bad News – I forgot to put them in the dryer, so they sat in the washer…. wet…. in the heat….

Nothing like a little musty bed sheets.

Good News – our sheets got washed twice today.

You can’t be too clean

Bad News – it is now 1:00am and we are finally making our bed.

That’s a little late.

Good News – I am going to bed now and trying my second night in my bed.

I hope it goes better tonight.

Me too πŸ™‚

  1. Although there’s small trials now, there is still forward progress! FYI, I know many Cuban brothers in Christ that wished I had a butt plug last week!

    • You are right Michael, the best is yet to come.

And by the way, I didn’t have any type of ‘plug’ in for the record. I was joking about my mucus building up and then suddenly exploding out. Like when a pregnant woman looses her mucus plug and then goes into labor, hence the second joke. Just clarifying so no rumors start floating around about me πŸ™‚

  2. LOL you are SO funny! Considering the topic is not one that people normally enjoy reading about, you do so well in writing that it makes even the topic of your “crap” enjoyable to read. πŸ™‚ I am hoping for some sweet clean sleep (prov.3:24 nkjv) for both you and Lori! Oh and by the way- we have had our fare share of double washed sheets & late night bed making … that made me laugh too. LOL. – Love you guys- miss you all, Steph

    • Hey Stephanie,

Thanks for encouragement. The verse is great, I will claim it every night before bed. πŸ™‚

  3. You dont know me, but my name is Jessica and I am just weeks away from my take-down surgery, and searching for info online to let me know what to expect. Have been reading alot of your surgery, but this post caught my eye. That is because this is what I am dealing with every single day right now. I am just 5 weeks out from my second surgery, but my Loop-End stoma is so bad, and my skin is already so infected we are changing it at least once every day. My doc has agreed to move my next surgery up by a month. I know that all this is long behind you, but know that you are still an encouragement to some of us who are facing these troubles head on!! I will keep reading! Thx again!

  4. Thanks for the reply Jessica. I am so sorry that you are having trouble with your stoma. There was nothing fun about it and it was very stressful at times. Hang in there. I am glad that your doctor is willing to move your surgery date up. I hope all goes well with your take down. Thanks for reading.
